Clause 93

Power to compound

(1)

Any police officer not below the rank of inspector specially authorised by name in that behalf by the Minister, or any employee of the Corporation specially authorised by name in that behalf by the chief executive, may in his discretion compound any such offence under this Act or any regulations made thereunder as may be prescribed as being an offence which may be compounded by collecting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the same a sum of money not exceeding one hundred dollars.

(2)

The Corporation may, with the approval of the Minister, make regulations to prescribe the offences which may be compounded and the method and procedure by which such offences may be compounded under this section.

(3)

All sums of money received for the composition of offences under this section shall be paid into the funds of the Corporation.
