Clause 5

New section 5A

The principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 5, the following section:“Revocation of appointment under special circumstances5A.—

(1)

The Attorney-General may by notification in the Gazette revoke the appointment of a notary public if the notary public —

(a)

requests that his appointment be revoked; or

(b)

has ceased to practise as an advocate and solicitor for a continuous period of more than two years.”.
