Clause 53

by deleting the words “one thousand five hundred dollars” in the seventh line of paragraph (b) of subsection (1) and substituting the words “an amount that is equivalent to five months’ salary”;

by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsection:“(1A) For the purposes of subsection (1) “employee” shall be deemed to include a subcontractor of labour and “salary” shall be deemed to include money due to a subcontractor of labour and any payment on account of wages or salary payable during a period of notice of termination of employment or in lieu of notice of such termination, as the case may be.”.
