Clause 7

Section 28 of the Employment Act is amended by deleting the words “shall not exceed one twenty-sixth of the monthly salary in respect of any one day” in subsection (2) and substituting the words “the amount of deduction in respect of any one day shall be calculated in accordance with the appropriate formula in section 50 except that the reference to “rest day, holiday, day of leave or period of leave” in subsection (5) of that section shall be read as a reference to the day of absence or period of absence”.
