Amendment of section 6

Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act is deleted and the following subsection substituted therefor:“(3) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and —

(a)

in the case of an offence under subsection (1) shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than 6 months and not more than 2 years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $6,000;

(b)

in the case of an offence under subsection (2) shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to a fine not exceeding $4,000 or to both.”.
