Amendment of section 16
Section 16 of the principal Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the word “special” in the eleventh line;
(b)
by deleting the words “a seizable” in the twelfth line and substituting the word “any”; and
(c)
by renumbering the section as subsection (1) of that section, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following subsection:“(2) For the purposes of sections 58(1) and 122(5) of the Criminal Procedure Code [Cap. 68], the Director or a special investigator shall be deemed to be an officer not below the rank of inspector of police.”.
