New section 26A
The principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 26, the following section:“False statements, information, etc.26A. Any person who knowingly —
(a)
gives or causes to be given any false or misleading information relating to the commission of any offence under this Act or under section 165, 213, 214 or 215 of the Penal Code [Cap. 224];
(b)
gives or causes to be given to the Director or a special investigator any other false or misleading information,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.”.
