Clause 38

Power of arrest

A police officer or an employee or agent of the Board authorised in that behalf by the Board may without warrant arrest a person within the national parks and the nature reserves —

(a)

if he has reasonable cause to believe that that person has contravened this Act or any regulations made thereunder and he does not know or cannot ascertain the person’s name and address; or

(b)

if that person, in contravention of this Act or any regulations made thereunder, fails or refuses to leave a national park or nature reserve or any part thereof after being requested by the police officer or employee or agent to do so.
