Amendment of section 8A

Section 8A of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word “constituency” in subsection (1)(a), the words “and designate that constituency as a constituency in which any election is to be held on the basis of a group of 3 candidates, or on the basis of a group of 4 candidates”;

(b)

by deleting the words “the 3 candidates” in subsection (1)(b)(i) and (ii) and substituting in each case the words “the candidates”; and

(c)

by deleting the word “one-half” in the third line of subsection (2) and substituting the word “three-quarters”.

Clause 3 — Parliamentary Elections (Amendment) Bill
