Interpretation
In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires —“legal guardian”, in relation to a child or young person, means a person lawfully appointed by deed or will or by the order of a competent court to be the guardian of that child or young person;“place of safety” means any place or institution appointed or declared to be a place of safety under section 27 or any other suitable place the occupier of which is willing temporarily to receive a child or young person;“protector” includes the Director of Social Welfare, Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors of Social Welfare and such other person as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, declare to be a protector for the purposes of this Act.
