Clause 38

False statements relating to institutions which are not registered charities

Where a person solicits money or other property for the benefit of an institution in association with a representation that the institution is a registered charity, and the institution is not such a charity, he shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
