Amendment of section 55
Section 55 of the Factories Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “from a public main” in subsection (1); and
(b)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(3) Where workers are exposed to excessive heat, there shall be provided and maintained at all workplaces drinking fountains or other means of providing an adequate supply of cold drinking water to the workers.”.
