New section 96A
The Factories Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 96, the following section:“When Magistrate may take cognizance of offence96A. For the purpose of section 133 of the Criminal Procedure Code [Cap. 68] and notwithstanding subsections (1) and (2) thereof, a Magistrate may take cognizance of an offence under this Act or any regulations made thereunder upon receiving a complaint in writing and signed by an inspector.”.
