by deleting “$400” in subsection (1) and substituting “$1,000”; and

by inserting, immediately after the word “offence” in subsection (2), the words “except that where any damage has been caused to Government property, that person shall, in addition, be liable to make good the damage, the cost of which shall constitute a debt due from the person to the Government and be recoverable as such”.
