Clause 116

Regulations for survey of ships and issue of certificates

(1)

The Minister may make regulations for the purposes of authorising any organisation for the survey or inspection of Singapore ships and the issue of any certificate under this Part.

(2)

Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the Minister may in the regulations —

(a)

specify the surveys or inspections and the issue of certificates or endorsements;

(b)

provide for the registration of any person belonging to or acting on behalf of any organisation as a surveyor for the purposes of surveying or inspecting Singapore ships; and

(c)

prescribe the conditions for the registration of any person under paragraph (b) and the cancellation of the registration of any person.

(3)

Any certificate issued or endorsement made by any authorised organisation in accordance with any regulations made under this section shall be deemed to be issued or made by the Director for the purposes of this Act.
