Clause 4
Appointment of Director of Marine
(1)
The Minister may appoint a Director of Marine and a Deputy Director of Marine.
(2)
If the Director is temporarily absent from Singapore or temporarily incapacitated by reason of illness or for any reason temporarily unable to perform his duties, a person may be appointed by the Minister to act in the place of the Director during any such period of absence from duty.
(3)
The Director may appoint such number of officers as he thinks fit for the purpose of carrying out all or any of the functions conferred on the Director by this Act.
(4)
The Director may delegate to any officer appointed under this section all or any of the powers conferred on the Director by this Act, except the powers conferred by section 113.
