Restriction on employment of young persons on board ship
(1)
No young person shall be employed on any ship except as permitted by regulations made under this section.
(2)
The Minister may make regulations prescribing the circumstances in which and the conditions subject to which young persons who have attained such specified age may be employed on a ship in such capacities as may be specified.
(3)
If any person is employed on a ship in contravention of any regulations made under this section or if any condition subject to which a person may be employed under any such regulation is not complied with, the owner or the master of the ship shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000.
