Clause 18

Powers in relation to examination of goods

If any goods in respect of which there is reason to believe that they are being, or are about to be, or have recently been, imported, exported, carried coastwise, shipped as ships’ stores, carried as aircraft stores or transhipped in contravention of any regulations made under section 3, are found in Singapore —

(a)

any authorised officer may examine the goods; and

(b)

any senior authorised officer may take samples of the goods and may submit the goods or samples, or cause them to be submitted, to such tests or analysis as he may think fit.
