Powers of arrest
(1)
A police officer, or any employee of the Authority generally or specially authorised in writing by the Chief Executive of the Authority, may arrest without warrant any person found committing or whom he has reason to believe has committed an offence punishable under this Act or any regulations made thereunder.
(2)
No person arrested under subsection (1) shall be detained longer than is necessary for bringing him before a court unless the order of court for his continued detention is obtained.
