Constitution of Pilotage Committee
(1)
The Pilotage Committee shall consist of —
the Port Master who shall be the chairman of the Committee; and
not less than 4 other persons, 3 of whom must have, in the opinion of the Authority, knowledge of or experience in nautical matters.
(2)
A member of the Pilotage Committee shall hold office for such term, not exceeding 3 years, as the Authority may specify in its appointment and shall be eligible for re-appointment.
(3)
At any meeting of the Committee, 3 members of the Pilotage Committee shall form a quorum.
(4)
The chairman of the Pilotage Committee shall preside at all meetings thereof.
(5)
If the chairman is absent from a meeting or any part thereof, such member, as the members of the Pilotage Committee present shall elect, shall preside in his place.
(6)
The chairman or member presiding at any meeting of the Pilotage Committee shall have a vote and, in the case of an equality of votes, a second or casting vote.
(7)
Members of the Pilotage Committee may be paid, out of the funds of the Authority, such fees and allowances as the Authority may, from time to time, determine.
(8)
Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Authority may, from time to time, make rules for the purpose of regulating the meetings and proceedings of the Pilotage Committee.
