Clause 36

Power to require evidence of identity

(1)

A police officer or an employee or agent of the Board authorised in that behalf by the Board who reasonably believes that a person has committed an offence under this Act or any regulations made thereunder, may require that person to furnish such evidence of his identity as may be required by the police officer, employee or agent.

(2)

Any person who refuses to furnish information required of him by a police officer or an employee or agent under this section or who wilfully gives false information shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
