Amendment of section 44

Section 44(1) of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word “institution” at the end of paragraph (o), the words “and to return to their residences or other designated places”;

(b)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (r); and

(c)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of paragraph (s) and substituting a semicolon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraphs:“(t)prescribing the functions and procedure of advisory committees;

(u)

requiring the fingerprinting of inmates and the dissemination of this information to the police; and

(v)

prescribing the type of offences in regulations made under this Act which may be seizable offences for the purposes of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cap. 68).”.
