Clause 5

Section 7 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (6), the following subsection:“(7) If the President dies or has his appointment revoked or otherwise vacates his office before the expiry of the term for which he has been appointed, a temporary President may be appointed by the President of Singapore for such period as the President of Singapore may determine to carry out the functions and duties of the President.”.
