Amendment of section 9
Section 9 of the principal Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “for a sum exceeding $5,000” in the third line of subsection (1); and
(b)
by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:“(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1) providing for the payment to the Public Trustee —
(a)
where the judgment is for a sum not exceeding $5,000, the insurer may pay the sum to the person or persons entitled to the benefit of the judgment; and
(b)
the right of action thereby created shall vest in the person or persons entitled to the benefit of the judgment payable thereunder.”.
