Clause 66
Service of notices, etc.
(1)
Every notice, order, summons or other document required or authorised by this Act or the regulations to be served on any person may be served —
by delivering it to that person or by delivering it at the last known place of residence of that person to some adult member of his family or his employee;
by leaving it at the usual or last known place of residence or business of that person in an envelope addressed to that person; or
by forwarding it by post in a prepaid letter addressed to that person at his usual or last known place of residence or business.
(2)
A notice, order, summons or document required or authorised by this Act or the regulations to be served on the owner or occupier of any premises shall be deemed to be properly addressed if addressed by the description of the “owner” or “occupier” of the premises without further name or description.
(3)
A notice, order, summons or document required or authorised by this Act or the regulations to be served on the owner or occupier of any premises may be served by delivering it or a true copy thereof to some adult person on the premises or, if there is no such person on the premises to whom it can with reasonable diligence be delivered, by affixing the notice, order, summons or document to some conspicuous part of the premises.
(4)
When a notice, order, summons or document is to be served on any body corporate, it may be served —
by delivering it to the secretary or other like officer of the company or body at its registered office or principal place of business; or (b)by sending it by registered post addressed to the company or body at its registered office or principal place of business.
