Clause 72

The Director may, in his discretion, compound any offence under this Act or the regulations which is prescribed to be a compoundable offence by accepting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $5,000.

On payment of such sum of money, no further proceedings shall be taken against such person in respect of the offence except that any compensation, damages, fees, costs or expenses which are provided to be paid under this Act or the regulations shall remain payable.

Nothing in this section shall prevent the Director from issuing any further notice in respect of the same matter to the person who has paid such sum of money.
