Clause 8

by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) Subject to subsection (2), no person other than an employee of the Board or a public electricity licensee shall commence or carry out, or cause or permit the commencement or carrying out of, any earthworks within the vicinity of any low voltage electricity cable which belongs to or which is under the management or control of a public electricity licensee unless he has caused cable detection work to be performed or carried out by a licensed cable detection worker.”;

by deleting the words “the Board or” in the 6th line of subsection (2);

by deleting the words “earth works” wherever they appear in subsections (2) and (3) and in the marginal note and substituting in each case the word “earthworks”;

by inserting, immediately after the word “any” in the 4th line of subsection (3), the words “low voltage”; and

by deleting the words “3 years” in the last line of subsection (4) and substituting the words “12 months”.
