Costs
(1)
Where the Board is satisfied that a registered nurse, an enrolled nurse or a registered midwife —
has obtained his registration or enrolment fraudulently or by an incorrect statement;
has contravened or failed to comply with any condition imposed on him under section 17(2) or 19(2) or (7), or to which he is subject by virtue of section 47(4);
has been convicted of an offence in or outside Singapore which in the opinion of the Board renders him unfit to remain on the Register or the Roll;
has been guilty of any misconduct, or negligence, which in the opinion of the Board renders him unfit to remain on the Register or the Roll; or
is unable to perform satisfactorily the functions of a registered nurse, an enrolled nurse or a registered midwife, as the case may be, because of a mental or physical disability,the Board may, in addition to any power which the Board may exercise under section 19, order him to pay to the Board such sums as the Board thinks fit in respect of the costs and expenses of the inquiry by the Board.
(2)
The High Court shall have jurisdiction to tax the sums ordered to be paid under subsection (1).
(3)
The sums ordered to be paid under subsection (1) may be recovered as a debt in any court with competent jurisdiction.
