Amendment of section 43
Section 43 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsections:“(1A) No person who is an undischarged bankrupt —
(a)
shall be appointed or elected as a trustee of a trade union; or
(b)
if so appointed or elected, shall remain as such.(1B) No person who has been convicted of an offence involving fraud or dishonesty or any other offence which, in the opinion of the Minister, renders him unfit to be a trustee of a trade union —
(a)
shall be appointed or elected as a trustee of a trade union; or
(b)
if so appointed or elected, shall remain as such,except with the approval of the Minister.”.
