Clause 49

Notwithstanding the repeal of Part VIII of the principal Act, any person who, on the date of commencement of section 44 of this Act, is being detained in the Young Offenders Section pursuant to an order of the Juvenile Court or any other court shall continue to be so detained until the expiry of his period of detention, and the provisions of the principal Act in force immediately before the date of commencement of section 44 of this Act shall continue to apply in respect of such person as if that section had not been enacted.
