Clause 151

Power of Minister to appoint inspectors

(1)

Notwithstanding anything in this Act, the Minister may, if he thinks it in the public interest to do so, appoint any person as an inspector to investigate any matter concerning dealing in securities, trading in futures contracts or leveraged foreign exchange trading.

(2)

An inspector appointed under subsection (1) shall have all the powers conferred upon an inspector under Part IX of the Companies Act (Cap. 50) and that Part shall, with the necessary modifications, apply to such investigation.

(3)

Any inspector appointed under subsection (1) shall report the results of his investigation to the Minister and the Minister may, if he thinks it in the public interest to do so, cause the report to be printed and published.
