Clause 1

Short title and commencement

This Act may be cited as the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.(2) Subject to subsection (3), this Act shall not apply in relation to a contract entered into before the end of the period of 6 months from the date of commencement of this Act.(3) The restriction in subsection (2) shall not apply in relation to a contract which —

(a)

is entered into on or after the date of commencement of this Act; and

(b)

expressly provides for the application of this Act.

This Act may be cited as the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

(2)

Subject to subsection (3), this Act shall not apply in relation to a contract entered into before the end of the period of 6 months from the date of commencement of this Act.

(3)

The restriction in subsection (2) shall not apply in relation to a contract which —

(a)

is entered into on or after the date of commencement of this Act; and

(b)

expressly provides for the application of this Act.
