Clause 6

Prohibition on unauthorised activities relating to electricity

(1)

No person shall —

(a)

engage in the generation of electricity;

(b)

engage in the transmission of electricity;

(c)

engage in the retailing of electricity;

(d)

import or export electricity;

(e)

provide any market support services;

(f)

trade in any wholesale electricity market; or

(g)

operate any wholesale electricity market,unless he is authorised to do so by an electricity licence granted under section 9 or is exempted under section 8.

(2)

Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $500,000.
