Repeal and re-enactment of section 3
Section 3 of the principal Act is repealed and the following section substituted therefor:“Administration of Act and appointment of authorised officers, etc.3.—
The Director-General shall be responsible for the administration of this Act, subject to the general or special directions of the Minister.(2) The Director-General may in writing appoint any public officer or any officer of the Authority or of any statutory authority to be an authorised officer for the purposes of this Act and any regulations made thereunder.(3) The Director-General may appoint one or more persons with the prescribed qualifications and practical experience to be authorised analysts for the purposes of this Act and any regulations made thereunder.(4) The Director-General may delegate the exercise of all or any of the powers conferred or duties imposed upon him by this Act to any authorised officer.”.
