Clause 6

by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) For the purpose of discharging his functions and duties under this Act and any regulations made thereunder, an authorised officer may at any time require any person —

to produce to the authorised officer for inspection any document or record or copies or extracts of any document or record which the authorised officer believes on reasonable grounds contains any information relevant to the administration or enforcement of this Act or any regulations made thereunder; or

to furnish any information as the authorised officer may reasonably require.”;

by deleting the words “and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $500” in subsection (4); and

by deleting the words “and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000” in the penultimate and last lines of subsection (5).
