Amendment of section 171

Section 171 of the Companies Act is amended by deleting subsection (1B) and substituting the following subsection:“(1B) Any person who is appointed by the directors of a company as a secretary by virtue of his qualification under subsection (1A) shall, at the time of his appointment, by himself or through an advocate and solicitor, accountant or a prescribed person authorised by him, file with the Registrar a declaration in the prescribed form that he consents to act as secretary and providing the prescribed particulars.”.
