Amendment of section 401
Section 401 of the Companies Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(2A) Any person who, for any purpose under this Act —
(a)
lodges or files with or submits to the Registrar any document; or (b)authorises another person to lodge or file with or submit to the Registrar any document, knowing that document to be false or misleading in a material respect, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.”.
