Senior authorised officer may seek information
(1)
This section applies if a senior authorised officer considers that any person is capable of giving information relating to any act referred to in section 5, 6 or 9.
(2)
The senior authorised officer may, by written notice given to a person referred to in subsection (1), require the person to give such information to him within such reasonable period and in such manner as is specified in the notice.
(3)
The senior authorised officer may, by written notice given to a person referred to in subsection (1), require the person to give the senior authorised officer particular documents, or documents of a particular kind, specified in the notice, within such reasonable period as is specified in the notice.
(4)
Any person who refuses or fails, without reasonable cause, to comply with a notice under this section to the extent that the person is capable of complying with it shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
(5)
The power of a senior authorised officer under this section to require a person to give information or documents to him is in addition to any obligation to give information or documents that the person may have under section 10.
