Clause 32

Term of office of member appointed or elected to take place of existing member

(1)

Notwithstanding section 4(2) of the principal Act, a person appointed or elected after the date of commencement of this Act as a member of the Medical Council to take the place of a member of the Medical Council who was appointed or elected before that date and whose term of office has expired, shall hold office for a term that is determined by the Minister by order published in the Gazette.

(2)

The Minister may determine a term of office that is not less than 6 months and not more than 40 months.
