Clause 30

Amendment of section 196

Section 196 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (a)(i);

(b)

by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (a), the following sub-paragraph:“(ia)securities of any business trust; or”;

(c)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (b)(i); and

(d)

by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (b), the following sub-paragraph:“(ia)securities of a business trust, the trustee of which is formed in Singapore or carries on business on behalf of the business trust in Singapore; or”.
