Clause 18

Every limited liability partnership shall have either the words “limited liability partnership” or the acronym “LLP” as part of its name.

No limited liability partnership that is registered under this Act shall carry on business under a name that is not registered under section 16 or 28.

The registration of a name under which a limited liability partnership carries on business shall not be construed as authorising the use of that name if, apart from such registration, the use of that name could be prohibited.

Any limited liability partnership which contravenes this section shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000.
