Clause 16

Amendment of section 27

Section 27 of the Telecommunications Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (c) of subsection (1), and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:“(ca)to ensure the co-ordination and co-operation, on such terms as the Authority may specify, with any other person in the use or sharing of any installation, plant or system, or part thereof owned or used by the telecommunication licensee for the provision of any telecommunication or broadcasting service; or”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (c) of subsection (2) and substituting the following paragraph:“(c)may be varied, suspended or revoked at any time by the Authority.”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately after the words “subsection (1)” in the 2nd line of subsection (3), the words “or varying a direction under subsection (2)(c)”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately after the words “to make” in subsection (3)(a), the words “or vary”;

(e)

by inserting, immediately after the words “proposed direction” in subsection (3)(b), the words “or variation”; and

(f)

by deleting subsection (4).
