Amendment of section 179
Section 179 of the Companies Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (7), the following subsection:“(8) For the purposes of this section, any reference to a member of a company does not include the company itself where it is such a member by virtue of its holding shares as treasury shares.”.
