Amendment of section 40

Section 40 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the definition of “Dependants’ Protection Insurance Fund” and substituting the following definition:“ “appointed insurer” means any person who is registered under the Insurance Act (Cap. 142) to carry on insurance business in Singapore and who is appointed by the Board to take over the whole or any part of the Board’s liabilities under the Scheme or to provide insurance cover to any person under the Scheme;”.
