Amendment of section 28A

Section 28A of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “a sum not exceeding $200.” in subsection (1) and substituting the following words:“a sum not exceeding —

(a)

one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence; or

(b)

$5,000,whichever is the lower.”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsection:“(1A) On payment of such sum of money, no further proceedings shall be taken against that person in respect of the offence.”.
