Amendment of section 46

Section 46 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:“(2) Any records kept in pursuance of this section shall be preserved —

(a)

in the case of records relating to a prescribed accounting period ending before 1st January 2007, for a period of not less than 7 years from the end of the prescribed accounting period; and

(b)

in the case of records relating to a prescribed accounting period ending on or after 1st January 2007, for a period of not less than 5 years from the end of the prescribed accounting period.”.
