Demand for surrender of cancelled Singapore passports, etc.
(1)
An authorised officer may demand that a person surrender a Singapore passport or a Singapore travel document to the authorised officer if —
(a)
the document has been cancelled under section 21 or 22; or
(b)
the document has otherwise ceased to be valid.
(2)
Any person having possession or control of any document that an authorised officer demands to be surrendered to the officer under subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both if the person fails to immediately comply with the demand of the authorised officer made under that subsection.
