Miscellaneous amendments to penalties
(1)
The sections of the principal Act specified in the first column of the First Schedule to this Act are amended by deleting the fine or term of imprisonment or both specified in the second column of the First Schedule opposite that section and substituting in each case the fine or term of imprisonment or both, as the case may be, specified in the third column of that Schedule.

Section 28(9) of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words “to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding $500 for every day during which the offence continues after conviction.” and substituting the words “to a fine not exceeding $20,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both, and in respect of a continuing contravention, to an additional fine not exceeding $500 for each day or part thereof during which the contravention continues, and if the contravention continues after the conviction, the person shall be guilty of a further offence and shall be liable on conviction of this further offence to a further fine not exceeding $2,000 for every day or part thereof during which the contravention continues after conviction.”.
