Saving and transitional provision
(1)
Notwithstanding section 12(2)(c) of the principal Act in force immediately before the appointed day, any person who is a Muslim and has made a gift of any organ from his body under the Medical (Therapy, Education and Research) Act (Cap. 175) after the expiry of the prescribed period shall, in the selection of a proposed recipient of any organ removed pursuant to section 5 of the principal Act as amended by this Act, have the same priority under section 12(1)(a) of the principal Act as a person who has not registered any objection with the Director under section 9(1) of the principal Act in respect of that organ.

“prescribed period” means the period prescribed in section 12(2)(a)(i), (ii) or (iii) of the principal Act in force immediately before the appointed day.
