Clause 10

Amendment of section 13

Section 13 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:“(2) The apex organisation, when formed and registered, may —

(a)

give such assistance and advice in the formation, organisation and operation of societies as will enable the societies to comply with the provisions of this Act and the Rules;

(b)

provide, organise and supervise effective centralised services for co-operative education and training, supplies, marketing, banking, transport, accounting, audit and such other services as may be necessary for its members; and

(c)

carry out such other functions or duties as may be conferred on the apex organisation by this Act or the rules made thereunder.”.
